In August meetup, Agile Analytics and Tourism Australia will share insight into how Tourism used its vast data assets to innovate and streamline its operation and how the vast data sources surfaced through Power BI became an asset helping to manage the large tourist behaviour changes during COVID.

This session is highly relevant for both Power BI users but more specifically businesses (particularly in the tourism industry) who want to streamline their operation while continuing to innovate.

Speakers Bios:

Seamus May – is an experienced analyst who has shared his expertise working across industries including aviation and tourism. With a double degree in Aviation Management and Commerce, he specialises in providing valuable insights through the delivery of data. As part of the Strategy and Research department within Tourism Australia, the team is tasked with setting the organisation’s objectives, devising strategies to help achieve them and ensuring that Tourism Australia and the tourism industry has the right data to make those decisions and understand their impacts.

Matthew Salmanzadeh – is a seasoned banking and retail professional, with demonstrated experience leading transformation programs across Technology/Digital, MIS/Data and Operations functions over the last 18+ years.

This adept business leader has a diverse skillset, bringing a proverbial “business hat” to projects to ensure what is delivered is going to add real value to the business.

Kane Snyder – is an experienced Power BI developer and Microsoft certified data analyst with experience delivering complete Power BI reporting solutions. He has advanced knowledge of DAX language and can leverage it to solve highly complex business problems.

He is well known in the Power BI community for his articles and presentations on advanced Power BI topics like Calculation Groups. Having a background in sales and management gives him unique insight into the requirements of a business and delivering a user-centric approach to Power BI solutions.

Chathura (Chat) Wijesinghe – is an Azure BI Developer & Data Architect with over 16 years of BI development experience. Chat has experience in a range of industries, including Finance, Retail, Education, Insurance, Consulting, and Health Care.

Chat has delivered various challenging enterprise projects from end to end, effectively helping business make data driven decision and improve their efficiency.
