Agenda:

5:30pm: Registration and Networking

5:45pm: Power BI Updates

6:00pm: Connecting S4HANA with Power BI by Karthik Narayanan

6:30pm: A closer look at SVG Under Power BI Lens by Bob Gao

7:00pm: Q&A and Networking

Topic: Connecting S4HANA with Power BI

SAP has revamped its flagship ERP product and released S4HANA as the foundation layer for digital transformation. Although majority of code base has been rewritten from legacy to S4HANA, there are instances where components are retained and embedded. Power BI can consume data via existing connection methods HANA Database & BW Application Layer. Each method will utilize different back end engines accordingly. This talk focuses on delta back end objects design and how to consume them via Power BI. Adding to architecture, few best practices to be implemented while establishing Power BI as reporting platform with S4HANA is touched upon.

Speaker:

Karthik has more than 10 years experience in full spectrum BI solution design and delivery across functional areas and industry domains. His primary specialty is SAP BI stack (BW, BOBJ & HANA) and secondary specialization is Microsoft BI stack (Power BI, SSIS & SSAS). He is a freelance consultant and established Wisdom Schema Analytics as a niche end to end analytics consulting organization in SAP & Microsoft BI space.

Topic: A closer look at SVG Under Power BI Lens

What is SVG? How SVG can solve image related Power BI reporting design issues? How to embed a small Sparkline visual in your visualisations.

Speaker:

Bob is a Microsoft Certified Solution Expert in the data management and analytic space. His current role is Senior BI developer @DPIE (Department of Planning, Industry and Environment) and he is responsible for delivering end to end reporting solutions and training business users on how to use Power BI service to get insights.
